Khushiyan foundation is a volunteer-based, zero-funds organization that routinely collects surplus food from weddings, parties, and restaurants to distribute to the homeless and less fortunate across Ahmedabad.
Redirecting surplus food from weddings and events to those in need is a fantastic way to prevent waste and support your community in Ahmedabad. Our local volunteers to pick up excess wholesome food from large events and distribute it to local shelters. An organization frequently engages in social welfare, including community feeding drives and food distribution for underprivileged children and families.
Give Advance Notice: Inform the Organization 6 hours before the event so they can arrange logistics, containers, and volunteers.
Check Quality: Ensure the leftover food is stored hygienically and has been kept at safe temperatures. Organization cannot accept spoiled, heavily contaminated, or stale food.
Pack Sensitively: Whenever possible, asks your caterer to pack the food in easily distributable portions (e.g., individual thalis, securely tied foil containers) to make distribution smoother for the volunteers.
